UK admits another rise in vivisection
The UK Home Office has released figures showing an unacceptable rise in animal use last year.
UK labs used an additional 101,265 animals, a 3% rise in total. 3,642,517 animals were recorded, although many more animals are expected to have died in labs, due to other reasons. There was also an increase of 105,186 in the number of procedures 105,186.
The figures included an increase of 78% in the use of New World Monkeys.
